Skills to practise

  • Systematic investigation
  • Networking and systems fundamentals
  • Ethical judgment and clear documentation

Examples of learning routes

The study routes are examples, not admission requirements or a job guarantee. Check school-subject prerequisites, teaching language and recognition of the qualification in your intended work country. For regulated professions, verify training, registration and licensing with the relevant local authority before choosing a programme; university admission does not automatically establish eligibility to practise.

  • Computing, information security or a related subject with authorised practical training
  • IT support or systems experience followed by security study and defensive projects

Try a small task

Write a checklist for protecting your own accounts, or complete a task in an authorised learning lab. Do not test school accounts or systems without explicit permission.

Before deciding

Some roles include incident-response shifts and require continued learning as tools and risks change.
