An Irshad illustration, inspired by Oman and the possibilities ahead.
Explore Oman’s sectors through its employers
This is a research and learning map, not a vacancy list or a list of Irshad partners. Programmes and citizenship, subject, grade and graduation-year requirements may change. Project ideas are Irshad learning suggestions, not employer assignments or recruitment tests.
Employers to explore: 7
Energy and sustainability · Muscat and operational sites across Oman
Explore energy production alongside safety, water management and renewables. The roles below are career families to investigate, not vacancies.
Process and maintenance engineering · Geoscience and data analysis · Health, safety and environment
School project and university evidence
For school exploration
Irshad project for ages 13–17: map energy and water use in a fictional school and identify three sources of waste. Produce a dashboard using synthetic figures and a two-minute explanation. A parent or school should arrange any educational visit with the host.
For university and early-career portfolios
For university learners aged 18+: analyse open or synthetic pump-performance or energy-use data. Document units, assumptions and limits, with a short data-quality report and validation step. Do not test an industrial installation.
Entry route and conditions
Start with PDO’s Working at PDO page and PetroJobs, then inspect the specific announcement. Its 2024 sustainability report also describes Emdad and skills programmes across the business ecosystem; these are not all direct PDO recruitment.
The 2024 report describes Emdad vocational learning for young Omanis and support for registered job seekers. This is dated context, not 2026 intake criteria or an offer. Verify employer, qualification, nationality and experience in the current announcement.
The group works across the energy value chain. Explore how science connects with calculations, operations and supply chains; the group name alone does not determine a role’s location or work.
Engineering and operations technicians · Business and supply-chain analysis · Sustainability and resource efficiency
School project and university evidence
For school exploration
Irshad project for ages 13–17: map a fictional product from raw material to customer and mark where engineers, accountants and transport planners contribute. Propose one improvement, explaining its expected effect and the limits of your estimate.
For university and early-career portfolios
For ages 18+: build a simple material-balance or inventory model using synthetic data and test a supplier-delay scenario. Submit calculations and a one-page decision brief covering cost, quality and safety, identifying your own contribution.
Entry route and conditions
The careers page describes Shabab OQ and an internship channel. Use the jobs portal to check the intake and role; a programme information page does not mean applications are open.
Shabab OQ targets Omani bachelor’s and diploma graduates. Do not extend that eligibility to every group role or internship; the portal also separates Omani and expatriate experienced-professional routes. Read each announcement.
Ports, shipping and logistics show how goods and information move together. Supporting work includes analysis, technology and communication, as well as transport and maritime operations.
Transport and inventory planning · Freight operations and documentation · Data and systems analysis · Communications and content
School project and university evidence
For school exploration
Irshad project for ages 13–17: plan deliveries for a fictional school exhibition across three sites. Compare two routes by time, distance and trips, then model a delayed delivery. Use public maps; access to ports or operating sites requires formal arrangements.
For university and early-career portfolios
For ages 18+: create synthetic shipment data with order and delivery dates and document status. Calculate delays and discuss possible causes without claiming proof. Add a dashboard and an Arabic/English customer update.
Entry route and conditions
Use Asyad’s jobs portal and record the subsidiary, role and requisition number. It may list experienced and junior positions; do not assume a single group-wide internship intake exists or is open.
Announcements specify nationality, qualification and experience individually; the portal has carried both Omani and non-Omani criteria. This establishes no automatic eligibility for a role. Confirm internship and age conditions with the actual announcement or employer.
Telecommunications combines technical work with customer service, finance and marketing. Choose a specific user problem and show how digital skills and clear communication help address it.
Technical support and networks · Customer experience and digital services · Analysis and finance · Marketing and human resources
School project and university evidence
For school exploration
Irshad project for ages 13–17: design an illustrated Arabic/English guide to a fictional digital service. Test clarity with family members and improve the steps without collecting phone numbers, passwords or account data.
For university and early-career portfolios
For ages 18+: prototype an interface or dashboard for synthetic support requests. Document usability, classification accuracy and changes after testing. For non-technical work, add a reasoned communication plan or cost analysis.
Entry route and conditions
The internship page directs CV submission to its training and development team through the linked channel. Review the careers page for screening, assessments and interviews and confirm programme fit before applying.
The current internship page explicitly limits the programme to recent graduates. Do not present it as school work experience or a route for every current university student. The reviewed page gives no blanket nationality or GPA rule; request the intended intake’s conditions.
Explore banking operations, customer service, systems and analysis. Practising accuracy, confidentiality and explanation of numbers is useful before choosing a particular banking specialism.
Operations and customer service · Financial analysis and accounting · Technology and data · Risk and compliance
School project and university evidence
For school exploration
Irshad project for ages 13–17: build a budget and receipt ledger for a fictional school fair. Ask a classmate to find and correct an intentional error. Use fictional amounts and names and explain revenue, cost and surplus.
For university and early-career portfolios
For ages 18+: reconcile two synthetic financial records, logging exceptions and checks. Add a memo explaining one error-control measure and a clear customer message. Use no real banking data or investment recommendation.
Entry route and conditions
The official internship document describes placements of two weeks to two months, prioritising mandatory academic internships. Read its document list and official channel, then confirm duration, location and supervision before committing.
For graduates, the reviewed document requires age no greater than 26, graduation within the preceding two years and proof of job-seeker status. Students need a college/university letter. It does not establish all-nationality eligibility; verify before applying.
Tourism includes destination development, hospitality and visitor experience. Distinguish the development group from the hotel or operator employing a role, and examine the service behind the visitor experience.
Guest service and operations · Destination marketing and experience · Events coordination · Projects and sustainability
School project and university evidence
For school exploration
Irshad project for ages 13–17: plan a family day at a public destination in your governorate, including travel time, stops, accessibility and sourced heritage information. Produce Arabic and English pages and request clarity feedback.
For university and early-career portfolios
For ages 18+: design a fictional event operating plan covering responsibilities, schedule, budget and visitor-feedback measures without personal data. Include a supplier failure, apology message and workable fallback.
Entry route and conditions
The IAmTourism strategy names routes including Masarat graduate development and Tadreeb practical learning. Use the careers platform linked by the group and check employer, location and role; a strategy description is not a current registration call.
The group describes people from Oman and overseas, while national-talent initiatives focus on Omanis. Neither determines a particular programme’s eligibility; use its announcement for nationality, qualification, age, language and training conditions.
Aluminium manufacturing connects production, maintenance, quality and safety. Explore how teams record faults, verify measurements and improve processes over time.
Process and production engineering · Mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance · Quality, safety and performance analysis
School project and university evidence
For school exploration
Irshad project for ages 13–17: create a paper-based box production line and record time and defects over ten attempts. Change one step and compare results using safe tools and teacher supervision. Do not attempt smelting or industrial equipment.
For university and early-career portfolios
For ages 18+: use a synthetic equipment-downtime log, classify causes and calculate lost time while identifying missing data. Propose an improvement and validation test, plus a sample shift handover.
Entry route and conditions
The careers page describes graduate recruitment and internships for students or recent graduates, linking to the official opportunities portal. Identify the route before preparing an application; each announcement has its own requirements and dates.
Graduate recruitment is for recent graduates and uses competitive selection and interviews. The overview establishes no universal GPA, nationality or age threshold for every opportunity. Use the specific announcement; an internship is not a job promise.
Start with evidence you already have: a project, collaboration, writing, analysis or service. Explain your actual contribution and result, and keep school, customer and peer information private.
Use employers to understand work and skills
Start with what an organisation produces or provides, then explore the roles supporting it. Choosing an employer does not imply one required degree; connect work descriptions to subjects, skills and a demonstrable project.
Follow official opportunities channels
Verify the announcement source and cycle conditions before submitting documents. Do not send identity or financial details to unverified accounts. These research profiles do not imply employer endorsement or a recruitment relationship with Irshad.
