Explore careers through a practical step

Start with your curiosity, then try a small task connected to real work. Compare everyday responsibilities with the subjects you enjoy and the skills you want to develop, and discuss what you learn with your family or counsellor. These are starting points for exploration in Oman and the Gulf, not a ranking of jobs or an income forecast.

The study routes are examples, not admission requirements or a job guarantee. Check school-subject prerequisites, teaching language and recognition of the qualification in your intended work country. For regulated professions, verify training, registration and licensing with the relevant local authority before choosing a programme; university admission does not automatically establish eligibility to practise.

Reflections that help you ask better questions

Dr Glowbal reflections help you notice your interests, values, study habits and readiness for university. They are original self-reflection activities, not validated psychometric tests or measures of aptitude, and they do not assign a major or rule out a career. Use your notes to begin a voluntary counselling conversation; any formal assessment needs an instrument appropriate to its purpose, qualified interpretation and clear limitations.

Explore the work behind the job title

You can like a career title without knowing its daily work. Try a small, safe task and record what you learned, enjoyed and found difficult. These observations support a conversation; they do not diagnose ability or determine your future.

Four weeks of exploration

Choose two fields and set aside a small amount of time each week. A school or family member can help arrange an age-appropriate activity or conversation with a trusted professional.

  • Week 1: read two profiles and identify a question for each.
  • Week 2: try a small task from each profile.
  • Week 3: discuss daily work and study routes with someone informed.
  • Week 4: review the evidence and choose another experiment, not a lifetime label.
