Skills to practise

  • Careful observation
  • Calm communication
  • Teamwork and clinical responsibility

Examples of learning routes

The study routes are examples, not admission requirements or a job guarantee. Check school-subject prerequisites, teaching language and recognition of the qualification in your intended work country. For regulated professions, verify training, registration and licensing with the relevant local authority before choosing a programme; university admission does not automatically establish eligibility to practise.

  • A nursing qualification recognised by the relevant authority in the work country
  • Supervised clinical practice and professional registration according to local requirements

Try a small task

Ask a nurse how hospital and community work differ, and note the communication and organisational skills used in a typical day.

Before deciding

Nursing may involve shifts and physical and emotional demands. Check the training and qualification recognition, not only the programme’s name.
