Qatari, Qatar resident or applying from abroad?
Start with citizenship, current residency, school location and curriculum. Qatar University provides international-applicant instructions and identifies GCC citizens as an exception within its student-visa instruction for self-funded international applicants. That detail does not confer admission or a scholarship; an Oman resident who is not a GCC citizen does not acquire the exception through residency.

Applicants without Qatar residency need a different question
The school-certificate equivalency service describes a route for people without official Qatar residency: a manual request supported by an official letter from a Qatari body or higher-education institution operating in Qatar. If applying from Oman, ask whether you need a university letter and how the process is coordinated.
- Identify whether the certificate is from outside Qatar or a non-national-curriculum private school within Qatar.
- Prepare final and previous-year documents and required attestations; check the curriculum-specific guide.
- Do not confuse school-certificate equivalency with recognition of a completed university qualification.

QU, UDST and international campuses are separate choices
The Ministry’s directory includes Qatar University, the University of Doha for Science and Technology and other institutions and international campuses. Use it to build a shortlist, then read each institution’s policy. Do not transfer QU’s requirements automatically to an international campus or assume every institution offers your intended bachelor’s degree.

- Does the major accept your subjects and levels, and is a portfolio or interview needed?
- What is the teaching language, and what academic support is available?

Check the programme, then assemble academic and financial offers
The Ministry provides a recognised-institution gateway with institution and programme information. Check the specific option, then obtain a clear university offer covering tuition, funding and accommodation. If a scholarship is undecided, prepare a cost scenario without it before choosing.
